Research Notes on Acetyl L-Carnitine and Attention Deficit Disorder
Acetyl L-carnitine was effective in one study published in the American Journal of Medical Genetics Part A in boys diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and also fragile X factor. Another study published in Psychopharmacology reported acetyl L-carnitine was effective in animal models in reducing impulsivity. Acetyl L-carnitine has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ADHD.
