Research Notes on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a new variety of psychotherapy that uses cognitive behavioral techniques. ACT is based on the theory that our suffering does not come from the experience of emotional pain but the avoidance of the pain. ACT is used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health disorders.
