Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) is a thickened brown patch of skin that occurs in any part of the body, although it appears especially in the folds of the skin, like the armpit, groin, and back of the neck. It is usually associated in conditions such as diabetes, obesity, malignancy, polycystic ovary syndrome, or idiopathic.
