Research Notes on Acamprosate
Acamprosate is a drug prescribed to help treat those who have suffered from alcoholism. It does not prevent withdrawal symptoms, but does help to restore the way the brain works in those individuals who were former heavy drinkers.1 Common side effects include diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, and itching.2
