The Academy for Eating Disorders was founded in 1993 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.1 Thirty-three clinicians and researchers came together to discuss concerns about the treatment of patients with eating disorders.1 Today it includes over 1,000 eating disorder professionals around the world.1
