An abscess is a warm to the touch, easily pressed mass that is usually surrounded by a colored area from pink to deep red. The middle of the abscess is filled with pus. An abscess can be found in any part of the body.

  • Antibiotics alone will not cure an abscess.
  • Generally, an abscess must be opened and drained in order for it to improve.
