Blindness, mental deterioration, and ataxia are possible complications that may occur from this condition.2

  • Continual monitoring and treatment is provides by a neurologist, dietitian, physical therapist, and occupational therapist to treat symptoms.3
  • Abetalipoproteinemia is more common in boys than girls (approximately seventy percent of the time) and is usually diagnosed in infancy.4
