Research Notes on Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty -- also known as a tummy tuck -- is a cosmetic surgery procedure to flatten the appearance of the stomach. It is not a weight-loss technique, and is not recommended for overweight people. Instead, the procedure tightens loose skin on the stomach, common in women who have been pregnant or anyone who has already lost weight.

- Women who plan to have more children should not have a tummy tuck.
- A partial abdominoplasty or minituck is for extra fat below the navel.
