Research Notes on Abdominal Perineal Resection
Abdominal perineal resection (APR) is a kind of surgery that involves the removal of the anus, rectum, parts of the sigmoid colon and may also include some lymph nodes. It is usually done through a laparoscopic procedure with an abdominal and perineal incision. This surgery is usually indicated in malignant tumors of the anal canal or rectum.
