Research Notes on Abciximab
Abciximab is a type of blood thinner that is used to prevent blood clots. It is mainly used during coronary artery procedures like percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to prevent platelets from sticking together. It may also be used during episodes of chest pain or a heart attack.1

- Abciximab is a Glycoprotein IIb-IIIa inhibitor.2
- The most common side effects are bleeding, blurred vision confusion, dizziness, sweating, and unusual tiredness or weakness.3
