Last week, the National Institutes of Health canceled a US human trial of an immunodeficiency virus vaccine. The NIH doubted it's effectiveness and was worried that it may increase infection. Since AIDS was identified in the 1980's, the number of fatalities have started to decline, but the number of people infected with HIV is still high.
