Research Notes on AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA)
The AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) is an AIDS research, treatment, and education center located in New York City. ACRIA functions as a non-for-profit, community based center. ACRIA was founded in 1991, and has already assisted in the creation of seven new AIDS drugs available to people living with AIDS, and has provided treatment information to people worldwide.1
Fast Facts:
- ACRIA operates a drug trial search database called Trial Search, that helps people to find AIDS drug trials across the United States.2
- One of the goals of ACRIA is to spread up to date information about AIDS treatments and research to the communities affected by HIV and AIDS.2
- ACRIA offers workshops, training, education, and technical assistance programs for people with HIV and caregivers of people with the AIDS virus. 2
