AIDS patients are at risk of developing Cryptococcal meningitis when their T-cell count is less than 100. The fungus cryptococcus neoformans is the culprit behind this disease. It exists in soil and bird droppings, and patients become exposed after inhaling small amounts in dust.1 Amphotericin B is one of the main drugs used to treat AIDS-related cryptococcal meningitis.2
