Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and food allergies are conditions that can affect both children and adults. ADHD is a neurobehavioral disorder that causes an inability to focus and listen to direction.1 Food allergies are negative responses of the immune system to certain foods which cause symptoms such as hives, digestive problems, throat swelling, and/or wheezing. Severe food allergies may result in life-threatening anaphylaxis.2
Fast Facts:
- ADHD affects three to five percent of children in the United States.1
- ADHD can continue into adulthood.1
