Research Notes on ADHD vs. Autism
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism have some similar symptoms, however they are also quite different. ADHD is a neurobehavioral disorder that causes an inability to focus and listen to direction.1 Autism is a developmental disorder that affects the way a child communicates and interacts.2

- ADHD affects three to five percent of children in the United States.1
- ADHD can continue into adulthood.1
- Estimates indicate that three to six in every one thousand children in the United States has autism.2
