Research Notes on ADHD and Sleep
Research shows that ADHD is linked to several sleep disorders. According to one study, children with a diagnosis of ADHD were more sleepy during the day than those without the disorder. Restless legs syndrome is also more common in children with ADHD than in those without it, according to research.1 Other studies show a direct correlation between ADHD and snoring. Researchers found that children who snore are twice as likely to have ADHD than those who do not snore.2
Fast Facts:
- Studies show that children with ADHD have more difficulty waking up than the general population.2
