Reading disabilities have been found to co-occur with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ADHD interferes with a student's ability to analyze information, plan and self-monitor. In addition, many children with ADHD suffer social deficits which interfere with their school success, even though they may also be highly intelligent.
