Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may predispose children to have epilepsy or seizure disorder three to fives times compared to children in general population. The treatment regimen of ADHD may include anticonvulsants to help control seizures in epilepsy. However, medication for ADHD such as Ritalin may interact with anticonvulsants reducing its effectivity.
