Research Notes on ADHD Medications
Although there is no standard protocol for the treatment of ADHD, many physicians agree that a combination of therapy and medication are beneficial.1 Types of therapy which can be helpful include psychotherapy, behavior therapy and family therapy.1 Medications commonly prescribed for ADHD include methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine and a combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine.1

- Sometimes antidepressants are prescribed.2
