Research Notes on ADHD Drug Risks and Warnings
In 2007, the Food and Drug Administration began requiring manufacturers of ADHD medications to warn patients about possible heart and psychiatric risks associated with these medications.1 These medications include, but are not limited to, Ritalin, Concerta, and Adderall. While these risks do effect otherwise healthy people, they are greater in people who already have heart defects.2
